Nick is a founding partner in the Washington DC law firm, the Rivendell Group. He is a highly experienced government relations and public policy attorney with particular expertise in the areas of high tech and telecommunications, Health IT, pharma and biotech, and energy. His Silicon Valley experience began in 2000 with his role as advisor to Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, who has represented Silicon Valley in the U.S. Congress since 1992. He also worked in various industry trade associations including those representing the high tech, wireless and cable industries.
With his extensive legal and public policy background, he now provides strategic guidance to Fortune 500 and startup companies alike, helping them to appreciate, anticipate, and navigate the policy and political environments that can impact their business. Most recently he has worked extensively on issues relating to online advertising, privacy and data security, as policymakers seek to develop a framework that balances consumer expectations of privacy with the ability of companies to operate in the internet ecosystem; and also with a promising medical device startup on its first policy campaign. Two decades of policy experience have made him a valuable resource for companies looking to affect a broad range of issues.
