Andrew is the Sr. Director of Mixed-Signal ASIC Design at Infinera, a provider of converged DWDM transport and OTN switching platforms enabled with PIC technology. Andrew leads multi-disciplinary system, design, product and operations teams innovating high-performance mixed-signal ASICs for terabit class scalable digital optical networks.
Previously, Andrew held key leadership and technical positions at venture capital based fabless semiconductor start-up companies, Maxim Integrated and Level One Communications (acquired by Intel). He started his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
With more than twenty years of semiconductor industry experience, Andrew is a recognized expert in analog, mixed-signal and RF IC design with CMOS and Si/HBT bipolar/BiCMOS process technologies. High-volume production designs include optical integrated circuit interfaces, high-speed serial communication interfaces, wireless transceivers, wireline transceivers, data converters and phase/delay locked loops.
Key publications and patents by Andrew include pioneering research in digital self-calibration techniques for high-speed and high-resolution data converters, widely used in communications, instrumentation and medical applications. He led the wave of integration of radio architectures to low cost CMOS process technologies with research in low power CMOS RF IC design techniques.
Andrew is the founder and managing member of Keravnos Consulting, focused on IC design services and litigation support services.
Andrew received the PhD, SM and SB degrees, all in EECS, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
